[Abstract] Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a metabolic disease characterized by the accumulation of fat and inflammation in the liver, which can progress to advanced stages such as liver cirrhosis and liver cancer. With changes in people’ s lifestyles, the incidence of NAFLD is increasing, and recent research has enhanced our understanding of its epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment. Currently, the treatment of NAFLD primarily relies on non-pharmacological interventions, such as exercise, dietary control and bariatric surgery. However, there is a lack of specific therapeutic medications, although some drugs are tested in undergoing clinical trials and have not yet been approved. This article reviewed the research progress in NAFLD treatment, aiming to porvide new insights for the management of NAFLD. |
