截至目前,WHO共定义了5种关切变异株(variants of concern, VOC),分别为Alpha、Beta、Gamma、Delta和Omicron。
[Abstract]? Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), a kind of RNA virus with capsule membrane and linear single positive strand genome, belongs to the β genus of coronavirus. This virus can cause coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Since it was discovered in December 2019, SARS-CoV-2 had rapidly spread around the world, and result nearly 6.5 million deaths. It has placed heavy burden on the health care of all countries and become the most serious global public health emergency since World War II. SARS-CoV-2 continues to mutate as it replicates widely and new variants emerge. As so far, WHO has defined 5 SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern (VOC), Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Omicron. SARS-CoV-2 VOC may exhibit enhanced abilities of infectious sensitivity, pathogenicity, neutralizing antibodies and immune escape. In this review, we described the research progress on SARS-CoV-2 VOC from the coronavirus overview, VOC classifications, and the influence of VOC on COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment, which could provide scientific basis for more accurate and scientific prevention and control of epidemic and scientific reference for subsequent researches.
