Japanese encephalitis (JE) is an acute central nervous system disease caused by JE virus infection. It is characterized by high fever, respiratory failure, disturbance of consciousness, convulsions and other nervous system damage. At present, there is no specific drugs in treatment of JE, and clinical treatment strategies mainly include active symptomatic and supportive treatment. In recent years, advanced organ support technologies and high-quality nursing measures have maximized the overall survival rate of JE. However, patients with extremely severe JE will develop serious neurological sequelae, and the disability rate remains high. In this paper, many non-medical problems in the treatment of JE sequelae are discussed from the aspects of physiology, psychology, society and ethics. The cause and countermeasures are analyzed, so as to provide reference for improving the life quality of patients. |
