Objective To analyze clinical and laboratory characteristics of COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2. Methods Data of COVID-19 patients who were admitted to and definitely diagnosed in Aviation General Hospital of China Medical University from January 24, 2020 to March 8, 2020 were retrospectively analyzed, including epidemiology history, clinical characteristics, imaging and laboratory test data. Results From January 24, 2020 to March 8, 2020, a total of 76 fever patients were screened in Aviation General Hospital of China Medical University and 7 cases of them were confirmed as COVID-19. All of 7 patients had a history of direct or indirect contact with people living in Wuhan and returned from Wuhan, 4/7 of patients aged ranging 41-65 years old, 4/7 of patients had underlying diseases. All of 7 patients was clinically mild or common cases, 6/7 of patients had symptom of fever and 4/7 of patients had symptom of cough or throat pain. None of patients appeared diarrhea or dyspnea. Imaging results showed that 6/7 of patients had patchy ground-glass opacities of varying sizes, with fine mesh shadow, and at least one lesion appeared at pleural region of lung by chest CT. Laboratory test results showed that 3/7 of patients had decreased lymphocytes, 4/7 of patients had increased CRP and 3/6 of patients had increased D-dimer. All of patients presented positive results of nucleic acid test for COVID-19. All of patients were successfully cured by antiviral and symptomatic treatment. Conclusions COVID-19 symptoms vary among individuals. COVID-19 diagnosis should be made based on the information of epidemiology history, clinical manifestations, CT and laboratory test results. |
