Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of peramivir and sodium chloride injection in treatment of influenza in children and provide evidence for clinical safe drug use. Methods Totally 260 children with influenza admitted to Zhuozhou City Hospital from January 2017 to December 2018 were selected, and they were divided into observation group (n=130) and control group (n=130) according to random number table method. The control group was treated with oseltamivir phosphate granules, while the observation group was treated with peramivir and sodium chloride injection. The efficacy and safety of 2 groups were observed. Results The time of normal temperature recovery, cough relief, nasal catarrh/nasal congestion relief, throat pain relief and complete symptom relief in the observation group after treatment were significantly lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). The overall effective rate of the observation group after treatment was significantly higher than that of the control group (96.2% vs. 83.8%, P<0.05). Before and after treatment, various indexes of blood routine test showed no statistically significant difference between the observation group and the control group (P>0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions after treatment between the observation group and the control group (8.5% vs. 12.3%, P>0.05). Conclusions Peramivir and sodium chloride injection is an effective treatment for childhood influenza. It can improve flu symptoms quickly without increasing adverse reactions.
